Pastor Troy has served the Rehoboth Church Family as the lead pastor since 2012. At that time, Rehoboth was struggling with significant debt and declining membership. God has favored this season of ministry and Rehoboth has again become a growing, thriving church family.
He loves his family and is married to Tina, who is his best friend. They have three married children and 6 grandchildren. He grew up in Northwest Florida and has lived in several states and outside the US, where the Bushes served in a major city.
Rehoboth is a diverse church family devoted to God’s Word. Pastor Troy loves this church family and is leading Rehoboth to faithfully invite others to follow Jesus, discipling them to mature and multiply. Under his leadership, Rehoboth is engaged in various community ministries, and Rehoboth is partnering with church planters to start new churches in the US and around the world.
Pastor Troy previously served as an urban church planting strategist and international missionary. He holds a Ph.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he has also taught urban ministry and missions. He has been an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at other seminaries and universities, and he has written several articles and training resources for urban ministry and missions. Most recently, he authored a three-part series of articles on the role slavery and convict leasing played in Georgia Baptist life and the need to honor those who made such a great contribution while being enslaved and leased as convicts.
