Pray for Tucker

“Pray for Tucker” is a ministry partnership of Christians in Tucker for the purpose of jointly praying for and ministering to their shared unbelieving neighbors.

The Pray For Tucker kickoff event will bring Christians together from across Tucker to pray, network, equip and encourage one another for the purpose of praying and caring for their shared unbelieving neighbors. This kickoff event will feature Rosaria and Kent Butterfield, who will give a talk on Gospel hospitality and prayer over Zoom. Following their talk, there will be a Q&A and time to connect to and pray with fellow attendees. Partner churches include First Baptist Church of Tucker, Tucker Presbyterian Church, Rehoboth Baptist Church, Atlanta Reformation Fellowship, and Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

Rosaria Butterfield is a well known author and speaker. Her latest book is about bringing the Gospel to our friends and neighbors through hospitality: The Gospel Comes with a House Key: Practicing Radically Ordinary Hospitality in Our Post-Christian World . Rosaria’s husband, Kent, is a pastor and will be speaking on prayer and ministering to our neighbors.

More about Pray for Tucker:

We are blessed, in the city of Tucker, to have many faithful Christians who desire to love, care for, pray for, and serve our neighbors. As believers, we attend churches both in and outside of Tucker, where we worship, serve, are ministered to, and care for others in the broader metro Atlanta area. With our various commitments to church, work, school, and other community activities, it has been challenging to get to know other believers in our neighborhoods and jointly pray for and support our shared unbelieving neighbors.

Pray for Tucker’s vision is to help us fulfill Jesus’ commandment in Matthew 22:39 to “love your neighbor.”

The common beliefs of our church partners (and neighborhood prayer hosts) is centered around God’s Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with The Gospel Coalition’s statement of confession as our unifying affirmation: thegospelcoalition.org/about/foundation-documents/#confessional-statement
